Why are we creative at the worst times?

What it is about not being able to write that makes you want to?

Today, I have back-to-back meetings and very little downtime between. So naturally, today my brain has gone into creative overdrive. I'm scribbling these thoughts down in Obsidian while waiting for one meeting to begin. I'd like to be adding more to some world building I'm doing. Or some code that I'm working on that I had a big brain lightbulb moment for walking in this morning. It always seems to be this way, bright ideas when I've the least amount of time to do anything about it.

I'm grateful to have my Obsidian vault on me at least so that I can scribble the ideas down before they get swallowed up by the day's struggle. But equally frustrated that I can't dig into what I want to.

There just never seems to be enough time for anything these days.
